Enhanced experience

Up at The O2 is now offering a more intimate and memorable experience than ever before and with enhanced health and safety measures in place. In line with social distancing guidelines, each climb has been reduced to less than half the capacity previously in place, giving a more exclusive experience to visitors.

We’re ready for you to climb

We’ve made a number of changes to keep you and our teams safe when visiting our attraction. These include:

Climbing equipment

What we provide

Visitors are required to wear their own suitable clothing. Climb jackets and gilets are available on request if needed as an extra layer. Climb shoes are always available. Please ensure you are wearing socks.

Currently not provided

We have temporarily stopped using our branded climb suits, so visitors are now required to wear their own clothing for the climb and should bring their own gloves should they wish to use them. Please ensure you wear suitable clothing for the weather conditions, as the roof can be cold without a climb suit.

Face coverings

You are required to wear a face covering when entering Base Camp and leaving via North Camp. You do not have to wear this whilst outside on the walkway and roof.

Social distancing

We’ve reduced capacities on our climbs and installed screens at reception desks and changing areas, along with other modifications so social distancing can be maintained throughout your climb experience. It is important that climbs are pre-booked to help us manage visitor numbers.

Health & hygiene

Our thorough cleaning regimes have been extended, with additional hand sanitising stations provided and regular deep cleans in all public areas.

Contactless transactions

For your protection we will only be accepting card or contactless payments, and please follow instructions from our team when making a purchase.

Preventative measures

Our staff will be wearing face coverings throughout your visit (Where social distancing cannot be adhered too) so they can check your equipment is safely secured and assist you with your climb. The wearing of face coverings within Up at The O2 base camp and north camp is required. Visitors to other areas of The O2 are also required to wear face coverings at all times, except inside bars and restaurants. Please do ensure you bring a face covering with you as you will need to wear it in order to exit the venue.

Cameras and Mobile Phones

You are able to take your mobile phone or compact camera up to the roof with you but it must be stored away in a button or zip pocket on your clothing.

Our teams are working hard to make this a comfortable visitor experience for everyone and we thank you for your assistance with the new measures.

We confirm we have complied with the government’s guidance on managing the risk of COVID-19. You can view our signed statement of compliance here which is also displayed at the venue.
